Description

The Thermo Electron Corporation's iCAP 6000 Series of ICP Emission Spectrometers utilize innovative new technologies to create the world's most compact system capable of outstanding performance and productivity.

The iCAP 6500 is a powerful system, equal to the exacting demands of the busiest laboratory.

Utilizing the latest design techniques, this compact ICP system has the core advantages of the iCAP 6000 Series - stability, performance and economics - with many additional functions aimed at improving them to the highest level.

• The all-new, high resolution echelle spectrometer minimizes space demands and purge gas needs.

• Temperature control to within 0.1 °C results in a high stability spectrometer and permits extended analytical runs.

• The large sample compartment makes fitting and adjusting the torch incredibly easy. 'Plug-and-play' optimized sampling kits allow any sample type to be analyzed.

• Mass flow control of all gas flows guarantees plasma stability, irrespective of changes in atmospheric conditions. An additional MFC controlled gas accessory is available for use with organic samples.

• New efficient 27.12 MHz solid state power supply, with the high power and stability needed to handle difficult samples.

• A 4-channel 12-roller pump, with its unique drain sensor, allows for on-line chemistry to be carried out.

• Radial or Duo (Radial/Axial) view versions are available, to suit your requirements.

• New CID86 chip (Charge Injection Device) allows free choice of wavelengths from 166 to 847 nm. More stable, lower noise and with the ability to measure transient signals.

• Intelligent software control of autosampler sequencing and system optimization ensures simplicity of use and the highest productivity.

iTEVA software

The iCAP 6500's iTEVA software is very easy to use, aided by its familiar browser style interface, and automates much of the system set-up and optimization. To run an analysis simply call up a stored method, fill in the autosampler loading guide (if used), ignite the plasma and after stabilization run the analysis. Method development could not be easier, aided by the intelligent optimisation routines.

Password protected log-on and multilevel user permissions, together with locked methods, ensure only those entitled to make changes can do so. All results are stored using Microsoft's SQL Server™, including the method used to measure them. Comprehensive data reporting is provided by Crystal Reports. This allows for very flexible reporting of data. Customized report templates can be used.

Operating an autosampler with the intelligent software enables the laboratory to maximize efficiency. For example, StepAhead and IntelliRinse functions minimize run times, saving up to 30 seconds per sample. Comprehensive QC checks can be programmed to ensure data quality.
